DIY Christmas: 3 easy and elegant decorations for a unique Christmas tree

First of all...

That's it! It's FINALLY (dare we say it?) time for the Christmas tree!

Every year, I like to add a few homemade creations to give it a more personal touch. In this article, I'll show you three cute DIY projects: a painted Christmas bauble, a mini nut wreath, and a little beaded bow. These projects are easy to do and add a truly unique touch to your Christmas decorations. You can follow my steps exactly, or adapt the colors and materials to what you already have on hand. The main idea is to enjoy creating and to have a tree that reflects your personality a little more.

Painted Christmas ball

Material

Transparent Christmas balls

White marker for glass

Ribbon of your choice

Pair of scissors

How to make it

1. Using the white marker, draw your chosen designs directly onto the ball: leaves, flowers, foliage... let your creativity run wild.

2. Let it dry for about one hour.

3. Replace the original ribbon with a pretty ribbon of your choice to hang the ball.

4. Hang the ball on your tree and admire its unique effect.

Mini walnut crown

Material

7 walnuts per small wreath

Glue gun

Ribbon of your choice

Pair of scissors

How to make it

1. Arrange the 7 walnuts in a circle to visualize the shape of the crown.

2. Using the glue gun, glue each nut to the next one so that all the nuts are connected and form a circle.

3. Let dry for about 5 minutes so that the crown is completely solid.

4. Cut a piece of ribbon and thread it through the inside of the wreath so that it can be hung up.

5. Using another piece of the same ribbon, make a small decorative bow.

6. Glue this knot onto the hanging ribbon using a dot of glue to hold it in place.

7. Your mini wreath is ready to hang on the tree!

Beaded bow

Material

Beads of your choice

Special fine thread for beads

Crimp Beads

Bead crimping pliers

Pair of scissors

How to make it

1. Cut a piece of thread 30-40 cm long, depending on the size of the knot you want to make.

2. String the small beads that will be used to make the loops of the bow, as shown in image 1. In the center of this long row, place the large bead that will serve as the center of the bow.

3. Then take one end of the thread and pass it through the large central bead, as shown in image 2. This automatically creates a loop.

4. Do the same for the second loop, as shown in image 3.

5. Gently pull on both ends to balance the size of the two loops, as shown in image 4.

6. Next, thread a few beads onto both ends of the wire to form the two small “tails” of the knot. Then finish by adding a crimp bead to the end of each tail, gently crush the two beads with the pliers, and cut off the excess.
