Halloween DIY: How to create a chic and haunted atmosphere

Halloween is fast approaching, and if, like me, you're passionate about autumn and decoration, this holiday is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself. In this article, I'll give you a few simple and creative ideas for making your own Halloween decorations and bringing the festive spirit to life!

1. The witches' broom

To make a witch broom, you'll need twigs or small dry branches for the bristles, a straight, thicker branch of about 1 to 1.5 meters long for the handle, and string.

Gather all the twigs together and position them at the end of the large branch, so that they surround the base. Allow the tips to protrude at least 30-40 cm, to give a traditional broom look. Tie everything together with string, wrapping it several times around the small branches.

2. Halloween garlands

To make Halloween garlands, you'll need sheets of paper in the color of your choice, a pencil and a pair of scissors.

Start by cutting out a rectangle 40 cm long and 10 cm wide. Fold this rectangle like an accordion, making regular 4 cm folds. Once the accordion is closed, you'll have a small rectangle measuring 10 cm by 4 cm. Draw half a silhouette on one side, then carefully cut around the outline you've drawn. Be careful not to cut off the ends where the fold meets, otherwise the shapes will no longer be connected. Now all you have to do is unroll your garland!

3. The pumpkin hollowed out like a lantern

You can't celebrate Halloween without digging out a few pumpkins. To do this, you'll need a medium-sized knife with a pointed tip, a spoon, felt, sandpaper and a few small candles.

Start by cutting off the “hat” of your pumpkin. Then, using the spoon, scoop out the inside of the pumpkin, removing seeds and fibers. Dig deep enough to make the cutting easier later. You can keep the flesh to make soup. pumpkin GnocchiOnce the inside has been emptied, draw the face or design of your choice on the outside of the pumpkin. Then carefully cut out the contours of your design with the knife. For a more polished finish, you can smooth the edges of the cut-outs with sandpaper. Once you've finished, place a few candles inside he pumpkin, light them and close.
