Whether it's because of the cold in winter or the sun in summer, chapped lips are not uncommon. Beyond the aesthetic aspect, it can also be painful. Sometimes, to relieve the discomfort, we tend to overuse lip balms, which cause them to dry out even more. To keep lips soft and healthy, there's nothing like a good scrub, to be gently massaged into the lips. Here's a simple recipe using natural ingredients you'll probably already have in your kitchen.
Ingredients
1 tsp vegetable oil of your choice
1 tsp honey
2 tbsp fine cane sugar
Sugar acts as an exfoliant, gently removing dead skin cells. Honey has healing, antibacterial, moisturizing and soothing properties. It is ideal, for example, for soothing the skin after a sunburn. Vegetable oils, rich in fatty acids, regenerate and nourish deep down, leaving lips feeling soft and silky. Olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil are ideal for this recipe.
Preparation
Mix ingredients, apply to your lips and massage gently in small circular movements. This preparation is intended for a single exfoliation and should be used immediately. You can exfoliate your lips once a week, as needed. Don't forget to moisturize your lips in the following days.
