Free your emotions with EFT
Are you going through a period of stress or anxiety, suffering from an emotional block or want to get rid of a habit that's causing you harm? You may find this article useful.
Today, I would like to discuss EFT, this alternative healing practice that rebalances the energy system to relieve negative emotions.
Explanations
EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, is an emotional healing practice that uses acupressure to relieve stress, trauma and emotional blockages. It involves gently tapping certain points on the body while focusing your mind on a specific emotional problem.
EFT is based on the theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy system. By tapping on specific acupressure points, we can release these blockages and restore the body's energetic balance.
When to practice EFT
EFT is recognized as an effective treatment for a variety of disorders, including anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma, panic attacks and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
How to proceed
EFT can be practiced in the presence of a specialized therapist, or in the comfort of your own home.
First of all, identify the emotional or physical problem you wish to work on. It could be a negative emotion, a pain, a phobia, a trauma, etc.
Then rate the intensity of your problem from 1 to 10, so you can monitor its progress during the session.
Then establish a preparatory phrase that sums up the problem or emotion you want to focus on. For example, "Even though I have 'this anxiety', I accept myself totally and deeply". Tap the side of your hand while repeating this phrase 3 times.
Next comes the tapping sequence. Use the tips of two fingers to gently tap specific points corresponding to the entry and exit points of the meridians in Chinese medicine. These points include the top of the head, the inner edge of the eyebrow, the corner of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, the chin, the collarbone and below the armpit. During this sequence, repeat 'this anxiety' out loud.
After the tapping session, reassess the intensity of the emotion or problem. Repeat the above steps until the intensity diminishes and you feel relief.
